We read. We expect you to.

Not as a quirky culture note — as a functional requirement. Building tools for fiction authors requires understanding what makes fiction work. We read widely and talk about it constantly.

§ 02 · opinion

Strong opinions, loosely held.

We want people who have a point of view and can defend it clearly — and who change their mind when the evidence warrants it. Wishy-washy consensus doesn't ship good product.

§ 03 · craft

Craft over velocity.

We move deliberately. We'd rather ship one thing that's right than three things that are almost right. Quality of execution is a value, not a constraint.
