Content & IP Policy

1. Two kinds of content

This policy explains who owns what on LoreHub. It draws a firm line between two kinds of content, because they are treated very differently:

• Generated content — worlds, books, chapters, characters, illustrated panels, and other material the Platform produces for you from your prompts, directives, and world context.
• Uploaded or imported content — files and works you bring to the Platform yourself, for example through the book import feature.

The rest of this policy takes each in turn. These terms form part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service.

2. Content you generate belongs to LoreHub

The Platform generates content by making a large number of automated arrangements — assembling your world and book context, orchestrating AI models, and applying our generation pipeline. Under the law of England and Wales, where a literary or artistic work is computer-generated, its author is the person by whom the arrangements necessary for its creation are undertaken (Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, section 9(3)). In law a company is such a person, and here that person is Twilight Works Ltd, a company incorporated in England and Wales (company number 17373842).

Accordingly, to the fullest extent that any intellectual property rights subsist in generated content, those rights are owned by, and are the exclusive property of, Twilight Works Ltd. Generated content is a Platform asset. You do not acquire ownership of generated content by creating it, paying for it, or exporting it — you acquire the licence described in the next section.

You should also understand that AI-generated material may be similar to output produced for other users, is not guaranteed to be unique, and — in some jurisdictions — may attract limited or no copyright protection at all. Nothing in this policy is a promise that generated content is protectable or exclusive to you.

3. Your licence to use generated content

So that you get the full benefit of what you create, Twilight Works Ltd grants you a personal licence over the generated content produced in your account. This licence is:

What you may do:

• Read, view, and enjoy your generated content on the Platform.
• Download and export your generated content — for example as EPUB, PDF, or structured data — and keep those personal copies.
• Use your generated content for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.
• Publish it within the LoreHub Marketplace, and take part in the Marketplace and fork economy, under the Platform rules and our Terms.

What you may not do:

• Sell, license, or otherwise commercially exploit generated content outside the Platform.
• Republish or distribute generated content off the Platform, or present it as your own original work.
• Sub-license generated content, or transfer this licence, to anyone else.
• Use generated content — or any Platform output — to train, fine-tune, benchmark, or develop any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model or dataset.
• Remove or obscure attribution to LoreHub where the Platform applies it.

This licence is non-exclusive, non-transferable, and personal to you. It lasts for as long as your account is in good standing; personal copies you have already downloaded remain yours to keep for personal use. We may suspend or withdraw the licence if you materially breach these terms or if your account is terminated for cause.

If you are a consumer, nothing in this policy removes the core benefit you paid for: the ability to read, download, and keep personal copies of the content you generate. These restrictions exist to keep generated content — and the platform it lives on — protected, not to deprive you of what you created.

4. Content you upload or import stays yours

Content you upload or import is different. You keep whatever ownership and rights you already hold in it — importing a work into LoreHub does not transfer its ownership to us.

To provide the service, you grant Twilight Works Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, analyse, extract structure and entities from, translate, and display your uploaded content, and to create the derived Platform data (such as a canonical world and entity registry) needed to power features you use. This licence exists only to operate the Platform for you and ends when you delete the content or your account, save for backups and legal-record retention described in our Privacy Policy.

When you upload or import content, you confirm that:

• You hold all rights necessary to upload it and to grant the licence above; and
• You have selected an honest legal basis for the upload — that you are the author, that the work is in the public domain, or that you are making permitted personal use — as recorded at the point of import.

You must not upload content that infringes anyone's rights or is otherwise unlawful. See our Acceptable Use Policy and DMCA / Copyright policy. You are responsible for content you bring to the Platform, and you agree to indemnify us against claims arising from it.

4a. Publishing content you own to the Marketplace

If you choose to publish content you uploaded or imported — for example by porting your existing books — you additionally grant Twilight Works Ltd a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, publicly display, publicly perform, communicate to the public, and distribute that content to other users of the Platform, and to make it available for reading and download through Platform features, for as long as you keep it published.

You keep ownership throughout. This is a licence to distribute, not a transfer, and it is not exclusive — you remain free to publish the same work anywhere else, at the same time, on any terms you like.

You may unpublish at any time. When you do, we stop distributing the work through the Platform and this publishing licence ends, save for copies already lawfully downloaded by readers, and for backups and legal records described in our Privacy Policy. We may also unpublish it ourselves if we receive a credible rights complaint, or if our checks suggest the work may not be yours to publish.

If you delete your account, content you uploaded or imported stops being distributed through the Platform. Generated content, which belongs to Twilight Works Ltd under section 2, may remain available.

When you bring books in bulk, you make the confirmation in section 4 once for the batch, and we record it separately against each individual book — the basis you selected, the title and author you gave, and the time, IP address and browser you made it from. Bulk porting accepts only the author and public-domain bases; personal use cannot justify publishing to a public catalogue.

We run automated checks on ported work, including comparing it against books already on the Platform. A flagged book is held back from publication and reviewed by a person. A flag is not an accusation — false matches are expected, for example where you have legitimately published the same work under more than one name.

5. Continuations and derived works

You can import an existing work and then have the Platform generate new material on top of it — for example, continuing a story or building new chapters. Where this happens, the line still holds: your original uploaded work remains yours, while the new material the Platform generates is generated content owned by Twilight Works Ltd under section 2, licensed back to you under section 3.

6. Marketplace, forking, and earnings

Because generated content is owned by LoreHub, the Marketplace, publishing, and forking all operate within that ownership: the Platform is licensed to display and distribute the content you publish, and other users may fork or build on it under the Platform rules. Any rewards you earn from this activity — royalties, tips, or patronage — are paid in platform tokens, within a closed loop. They are never a cash payment. This is set out in full in our Supporter & Token Terms.

7. We do not train our models on your work

We do not use your private worlds, books, characters, or generation directives to train AI models. Content you publish publicly to the Marketplace may be used to improve and operate the Platform, with appropriate safeguards and subject to your settings. Separately, your own licence above forbids you from using Platform output to train AI models.
