An engine
that draws.
The same world graph, prompt engine, and voice controls — pointed at panels instead of paragraphs. Script becomes layout, layout becomes art, art becomes an episode. The Illustrated Engine is in beta: authoring is open now, and the public reading catalog is rolling out.
How it works
the engineDesign the cast once.
Model sheets lock a character's face, build, and palette before the first panel ever generates. Every later episode references the same sheet — no re-casting at chapter eight.
Simple by default: describe a character and accept a candidate. Deep when you want it: adjust proportions, outfits, and expression sheets by hand.
Script becomes panels, in order.
Layout, line art, colour, and bubble placement run as a reviewable batch per episode. Flagged panels surface for a re-roll; approved panels lock in.
Nothing publishes unread — the batch queue is a gate, not a black box.
Restraint, by design.
Speech bubbles are live text composited over art — translatable, retypeable, retimeable. A curated effects list stays calm by default; screen-flash and impact beats are fenced off for the moments that earn them.
A separate motion & video budget lets one key beat loop or play, without touching the image spend.
